This 1-1/2 hour free workshop on the basics of multimedia reporting and publishing will be led by Donna Liu, Founder of AllPrinceton.com, founder the UChannel project, and a former CNN International producer at Princeton Community Television and Digital Media Center.

Camera Basics

A 1-1/2 hour required class for anyone wishing to borrow field equipment. We will review proper care of the cameras, how to start shooting, how to reserve a camera.

This class is held the first Wednesday of each month.

Editing 101

A great start to learn the technical aspects of telling a story with industry standard software, Final Cut Pro. Learn how to:

- organize your media

- trim clips so you tell the story you want to tell

  1. -add photos and music to enhance your story

Nick studied fil
m at Oberlin College and Prague Film School, and later worked for Oberlin's Film department as the Production Coordinator, teaching workshops and facilitating the production curriculum. Now, Nick lives in Langhorne, PA and teaches media literacy at a high school in North East Philadelphia. He also runs PCTV's bi-weekly meetup group.

Acting

Tuesdays in November 9, 16, 23, 30 @ 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.

Judith K. Robinson is continuing her acting classes at Princeton Community Television Studio on Tuesday evenings. The sessions run for four weeks and the next one begins on November 9 and goes through November 30. New members can join at the beginning of each session. The class focuses on learning a process that expands the emotional range and creative potential that is then applied to acting on stage, television and film and in one’s personal expression. Ms. Robinson brings an eclectic approach to her teaching developed from her extensive professional and teaching experience. She has appeared on Broadway, television, and in film and has taught and directed at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, the NYU Tisch School of the Arts, the Stella Adler Studio, and the American Theatre Wing.

Lighting 101

Monday, November 15 at 6:00 p.m.


This course will cover proper instruction in set up, break down and handling professional lighting equipment. Participants will learn to how to set up the equipment for an interview situation.


A required class for a

Lighting Beyond the Basics

Saturday, December 4, 1:00-5:00 p.m


This class is designed for anyone who would like to improve your technique in any lighting situation. Bring a photo of lighting you’d like to try. We will attempt to recreate it.

About Lawrence Roth

While attending Columbia College in Chicago, Lawrence got his first taste of film as a production assistant for a couple of the big crowd shots on Ferris Buellers Day Off. After graduation, Lawrence worked on lighting crews for films, The Untouchables, Crime Story and She’s Having a Baby.


He has worked with Janusz Kaminski (currently Steven Spielberg’s Director of Photography), Wally Pfister (Batman) and Mauro Fiore (Training Day).


He has also been the lighting director for many television shows and commercials including pilots of the Osbournes, Wife Swap and Trading Spaces.


Most recently, Lawrence has served as lighting director on the Dr. Phil House, 48 Hours, ESPN's 30 for 30 documentary series and CBS’s Lucky to be Alive.
