We provide classes in all aspects of filmmaking and digital media. We do not have an annual curriculum but offer classes based upon member’s expressed needs.
Camera Basics
Wednesday, January 5, 2011 @ 7:00 p.m.
A 1-1/2 hour mandatory class for anyone wishing to borrow field equipment. We will review proper care of the cameras, how to start shooting, how to reserve a camera.
This class is held the first Wednesday of each month.

Editing 101
Tuesdays in November 9, 16, 23, 30 @ 7:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m.
A great start for learning the technical aspects of telling a story with industry standard software, Final Cut Pro. Learn how to:
•organize your media
•trim clips so you tell the story you want to tell
•add photos and music to enhance your story

Nick studied film at Oberlin College and Prague Film School, and later worked for Oberlin's Film department as the Production Coordinator, teaching workshops and facilitating the production curriculum. Now, Nick lives in Langhorne, PA and teaches media literacy at a high school in North East Philadelphia. He also runs PCTV's bi-weekly meetup group.

Lighting Beyond the Basics

This class is designed for anyone who would like to improve your technique in a variety of lighting situation.

Location: Green Room
While attending Columbia College in Chicago, Lawrence got his first taste of film as a production assistant for a couple of the big crowd shots on Ferris Buellers Day Off. After graduation, Lawrence worked on lighting crews for films, The Untouchables, Crime Story and She’s Having a Baby.
He has worked with Janusz Kaminski (currently Steven Spielberg’s Director of Photography), Wally Pfister (Batman) and Mauro Fiore (Training Day).
He has also been the lighting director for many television shows and commercials including pilots of the Osbournes, Wife Swap and Trading Spaces.
Most recently, Lawrence has served as lighting director on the Dr. Phil House, 48 Hours, ESPN's 30 for 30 documentary series and CBS’s Lucky to be Alive.
