Coordinator of Volunteers

Princeton Community Access Television operates Channel 30 on the A side of the RCN Princeton cable TV system. Volunteers provide the programming for TV30. They are trained by TV30 to work in front of and behind the cameras, and to edit their productions into TV programming. Two part-time employees of Princeton Borough--a Station Manager and a Technician/Trainer--currently staff TV30. The Coordinator of Volunteers will be a consultant to the Chair of the Joint Princeton Cable TV Committee, the agency that operates TV30. The Coordinator of Volunteers will work approximately eight (8) hours per week.

The primary function of the Coordinator of Volunteers is to keep the volunteers who have been trained by TV30 engaged in the production of video programming for the station. The Coordinator will also be responsible for recruiting new volunteers to be trained in video production and editing. The Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining a database of volunteers, their capabilities and availability. The Coordinator will also recruit and maintain a database of trained mentors who will work with recently trained volunteers to provide "on-the-job" training. The Coordinator will be responsible for liaison with other organizations in the Princeton community in order to identify and maintain a calendar of events that would be suitable for video taping by TV30 volunteers. The Coordinator will solicit volunteers to organize production teams for these events and coordinate the video taping with the organization that is hosting the event.

The Coordinator of Volunteers will report to the Chair of the Joint Princeton Cable TV Committee, or his/her designated alternate.
