Economists are often portrayed as preoccupied with complex mathematical models or esoteric problems that seem removed from the problems facing our society. In this series we present speakers whose interests encompass issues that fill our newspapers and our radio and TV broadcasts. Perhaps they can give us a clear idea of the issues that face us.
